Thirty years ago, as a result of Iraqi Saddam Hussein’s attack on Kuwait, a broad Western coalition led by George Bush set the skies of Baghdad ablaze. This mesmerizing display was caught on American CNN cameras and relayed around the world. Flemish director Guy Cassiers looks back on this crucial episode in contemporary history through the eyes of April Glaspie, the US Ambassador then in post in Iraq and the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs Tarek Aziz, who has since died in prison. In the form of a TV show that examines a controversial interview between the diplomat and the Iraqi President, April questions the official versions that have since marked history.
