The FRAC Champagne-Ardenne presents the first institutional exhibition in France of Swiss artist Cathy Josefowitz (1956, New York – 2014, Geneva) and English artist Susie Green (b. 1979). Empty rooms full of love orchestrates the unprecedented encounter of two bodies of works that make use of similar media—painting, drawing, collage, performance, music—and explore themes like otherness and disguise, particularly through the use of artificial devices from the world of theatre. In their work, both artists examine the relationship to the body, through the intimate journey of the quest for oneself. This parallel between them highlights two powerful and sensitive artistic approaches on the emancipation of the body through the eyes of two generations of female artists.
