Homère / Christiane Jatahy

With Le Présent qui déborde, Christiane Jatahy presents the second part of a work around Homer’s Odyssey. In a world of migration and exile, who are the Ulysses of today? In various parts of the world—Palestine, Lebanon, Greece, South Africa, the Amazon rainforest, etc.,—Christiane Jatahy has filmed people, often displaced, who assume the role of Ulysses by means of Homer’s text, which mirrors and resonates with their current situation.
Taking her work on the relationship between film and theatre, fiction and reality even further, Christiane Jatahy fosters a dialogue between the film and the stage, and even integrates the public in an effort to weave links between our reality and that of others elsewhere.
