Numax-Fagor-Plus

Roger Bernat

In 1979, following the failure of a management experiment set up to save their business, the workers at the Numax household appliance factory filmed their last meetings as a form of record or testimony of their struggle. In 2013, the Fagor cooperative, one of the largest European household appliance companies, filed for bankruptcy. At the invitation of Roger Bernat, the Fagor employees re-enacted the Numax meetings, in the manner of historical reconstructions of the battles of Gettysburg or Waterloo. Now, it is the turn of citizens to appropriate the words of these workers…

Roger Bernat (b. 1968) is a Catalan director whose work questions the empowerment of the individual, in society, as in art. In his projects, the community is the protagonist. The word belongs to us all!
