Simon Senn buys a digital replica of a female body online. Once the replica has been downloaded, he brings it to life with sensors. The result? He can now “inhabit” the woman’s body, using 3D glasses. Who is this woman? Can he make this digital body do whatever he wants? Does this virtual body open him up to a new and rather pleasant sensuality? He manages to find the young woman whose body served as the model for the digital reproduction and he embarks on a conversation with her. Together, they question this third digital body that exists between them both. In a theatrical lecture that is both a demonstration and a confession, Simon Senn exposes the extent to which the virtual and real remain separate, and reveals the unexpected entanglement between psychology, gender, image, sensuality, technology and law.
