Some experiences cannot be fully or faithfully reproduced by television. In today’s news-bite culture, La Commune seeks to shake up the practices of theatre and (TV) viewers through the creation of journalistic plays. Cultural, civic, participatory, and political, they return to the heart of the vocation of reporter: changing the world by sharing investigations carried out in the field. Marie-José Malis collaborates with two investigative journalists, Étienne Huver and Jean-Baptiste Renaud, whose documentary on the crossing and rescue of migrants in the Mediterranean had a major impact on their lives. Here, Huver and Renaud update the information collected on the SOS Méditerranée ship and from one of the most horrific of Libya’s detention camps, in an effort to show that these stories are not anonymous. Their aim is also to generate discussion with the public.
