Kjære Albert, by Norwegian author Monica Isakstuen, is the first text proposed by the Comédie’s translation committee.
With a mission to discover and promote texts by foreign authors shortly after they were written or first staged outside France, the research and translation committee is headed by Sébastien Éveno and Marianne Ségol. In collaboration with five translators, the committee identify possible works for translation. Born in 1976, Monica Isakstuen is a poet and novelist, who has been writing for the theatre for several years now. The staging of Kjære Albert, created as part of the Mousson d’été Festival is perfectly suited to the setting of its FARaway venue.
