The performance entitled Overwhelmed, which was created for the Louise Bourgeois. Imaginary Conversations exhibition, explores the weight of a burden that has become part of our bodies and identities, a burden that is both mental and physical. Without a shell, we are vulnerable; with one, we are protected but limited in our movements. Jennie Bringaker is an internationally recognized Norwegian artist. Focusing primarily on the female form, her works blur the boundaries between human and animal features, and challenge conventional notions of femininity. Overwhelmed will be performed by dancers from the Supernova company, including Rikke Baewert, Loan Thanh Ha, and Venke Marie Sortland. Together they explore “performative choreography”, their creations are never fully defined or finished but instead express a constant state of becoming.
