With her boyfriend Sergio, Topazia plans to open up a bar in a circular, glass-fronted space that has gone to rack and ruin. Accompanied by another boy, a pianist, and a woman at a loss for words, the characters of Los Gestos seem to be contaminated by curious, unexpected gestures, foreign to themselves, and coming from elsewhere, as if they were echoes from the past. Re-examining the theatrical form in each of his creations, on this occasion, Pablo Messiez focuses on body language where the characters are traversed by impulsive, repetitive movements. This show, midway between dance and theatre, shines a light on that which cannot be said or written, on everyday gestures and what they express perhaps even better than words.
