Written in 1944, The Glass Menagerie by American playwright Tennessee Williams is undoubtedly his most autobiographical play, where the fate of his own sister, disabled and promised to a man, becomes the subject of a poignant tragedy. In another epoch and with other customs, Romina Paula reappropriates the figures of the original work but offers each character new possibilities, a freer, brighter future, and a certain refusal to submit to their destiny. El tiempo todo entero (The Whole of Time) tells the story not from the brother’s perspective but from that of Antonia, the sister, who is now the master of her choices and words. The light gives an impression of eternity, and time seems endless, becoming both the setting and protagonist of an almost unreal spectacle.
