Icelandic dancer and choreographer Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir addresses the little-explored subject of the menopause in a show combining dance and video projections. Why does this natural phenomenon, occurring in the lives of women around the world, remain a social taboo? Following an injury that led her to reconsider her relationship to her own body, Lovísa immersed herself in the subject and invited women with very different profiles to share their experiences and to dance spontaneously in front of a camera. From these interviews comes a show with a communicative energy, that is both moving and funny, and where the choreography matches the collection of stories. Named “the year’s most innovative performance” in Iceland, this dance-documentary offers a new discourse on menopause.
