Écritures de l’eau (expresión incontenible) [uncontainable expression] is a performance reading rooted in a fictional correspondence with women writers of the past who experienced borders, migration, or exile. Weaving her words with theirs, artist Olivia Funes Lastra composes a single, unified text—a sum of singular experiences. The reading thus becomes a space where these plural and confluent voices can unfold, creating a memorial patchwork of places and languages.
Based in Paris, visual artist Olivia Funes Lastra creates transdisciplinary works that merge installation, video, text, and performance, all envisioned as pictorial gestures.
The performance program presented at FRAC Champagne-Ardenne as part of this 7th edition of the Faraway Festival was curated by Mabel Tapia, an independent researcher and curator. Born in Buenos Aires, she lives and works in Paris. Her research focuses on 21st-century artistic practices that bridge the use of archives and political action.
