The explosive Barcelona school treats audiences to a demonstration of its choreographic skills.

IT Dansa brings together young talents from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, under the direction of Catherine Allard. Some fifteen dancers of various nationalities, have been selected to hone their skills with the greatest choreographers and perform, on stages all around the world, seminal pieces of contemporary dance. The captivating creation known as Kaash, which launched Akram Khan’s reputation, takes inspiration from Indian kathak dance; The Prom, on the other hand, is a theatrical piece with a 1980s’ musical atmosphere by young choreographer Lorena Nogal; Whim by Alexander Ekman, a former dancer with the Royal Swedish Ballet, offers an impressive emotional journey in a wonderful but slightly disconcerting synchronized ballet, and the percussive beats of Wad Ras, choreographed by Montse Sánchez and Ramón Baeza, complete the Reims offering.
