This concert by the first female super group or collective from West Africa, the Amazones d’Afrique, is a must-see event for all world-music fans! Whether undisputed stars or emerging talents, the musicians participating in this project are some of the most acclaimed voices in West African music: Kandia Kouyaté, Mamani Keita, Rokia Koné, Mariam Doumbia (one half of the Amadou and Mariam duo), Nneka, Mariam Koné, Mouneissa Tandina, Pamela Badjogo. With great energy and flair, the collective bring together different generations by perpetuating the Mandinka tradition, while adding the vibrancy and flavour of Africa’s megalopolises.
