Mediterráneo

Leonardo García-Alarcón / Cappella Mediterranea

Présenté par

L’Opéra

Talk about reinvention! Mediterráneo takes the public on a musical journey where Argentinian folk songs meet Baroque pieces, blending past and present with emotion and colour. Leonardo García-Alarcón, inspired by his childhood in Argentina and by Joan Manuel Serrat, celebrates poetry, freedom, and resistance to dictatorship. With the Cappella Mediterranea ensemble, he brings these pieces that have been rearranged by Quito Gato, back to life, merging Baroque instruments and modern percussion. A vibrant, memorable, and generous concert sure to touch souls and warm hearts.
The Reims-based Caminito de Tango association invites audiences to an evening where they can discover and enjoy Argentinian tango, along with the opportunity to taste some national delicacies.

The evening will begin with a lecture by Odile Fillion, the Buenos Aires ambassador of Paris, who offers her unique take on the history of Argentinian tango, far from the legend, as explored in her book The Invention of Tango. The Amazing Story of Charles Seguin, followed by a book signing.

The public can then attend a demonstration by the association’s teachers, showcasing the richness and diversity of the three varieties that comprise tango.

The evening will conclude with a milonga, an Argentinian ball, a festive and convivial moment that reflects the very spirit of Argentinian tango: encounter, dialogue, and shared pleasure.
